Australia’s international wind energy company Windlab Limited will begin construction of its $75 million Kiata wind farm in January 2017, after securing financing from John Laing Group plc and National Australia Bank.  The project achieved financial close today.

Kiata Wind Farm (Kiata) is a 30MW, 9 turbine project located west of Horsham, Victoria, near the town of Nhill.  Construction is expected to take less than 12 months with the wind farm being operational before the end of 2017.  The project will create more than 70 jobs during construction.

A world-leading project combining solar, wind and battery storage will be built near Hughenden in North Queensland, delivering renewable energy on demand.

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has committed up to $18 million in recoupable grant funding for a Windlab and Eurus Energy joint venture to build the first $120 million phase of Kennedy Energy Park, consisting of 19.2 MW (AC) solar photovoltaic (PV), 21.6 MW wind and 2 MW/4 MWh battery storage.

Nairobi, Kenya; 22 August 2016: Meru County Governor Peter Munya has concluded a contract with Windlab to develop a large-scale wind farm in the Kenyan County.

In line with the County's investment mandate, renewable energy is a critical component to provide electricity to the County and the Kenya National Grid.

"The development, construction and operation of a large scale renewable energy project within the County will bring employment, energy security and expertise to the region," said the Governor at the signing of the development agreement.

Hughenden, Queensland; 25 July 2016: Construction of the first stage of Kennedy Energy Park (Kennedy) will commence early in 2017 having received development approval last week. Kennedy is an innovative world leading wind, solar and storage hybrid energy solution comprising of 30MW of Wind, 20 MW of Solar and 2MW of Li ion battery storage. All co-located with one connection point, the project will be the one of the first grid connected wind, solar and storage hybrids in the world.
